The Blueprint of Good Success
Joshua 1:8 – “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
This instruction came to Joshua when he was about 90 years of age, called to lead Israel as a nation, and they were very close to possessing the promised land. Similarly, we all embark on this same journey to destiny in life, and our successful arrival would largely depend on how we follow God’s instructions given in the blueprint, the Bible.
This Book of the Law – Not every book, or just any book on various theological views is referenced to life, but the Bible. There were limited contents in “the book of the law” when Joshua received the instruction, yet Joshua succeeded despite the limitations. And there were limited numbers of mentors they could imitate as examples, yet he lived on what he had and experienced good success.
Shall Not Depart from Your Mouth – “Shall not depart from your mouth” means that this book of the law should be the constant topic of your conversation. It shall be in your thoughts, and your confessions must align, because your thoughts are voices in the spirit realm. Ephesians 3:20 – “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
Meditate Therein – Day and Night – Focus your thoughts on it, not seldomly, or when there is a problem. Psalm 1:1-3 says, “Blessed is the man…who knows how to meditate in God’s words.” Many do meditate, but not on the right thing. Meditation must be on the word of God, not on the problems. So, when the problems or challenges appear, find the word that addresses the situation, meditate on it, and keep confessing it in Jesus’ name. In the place of meditation, your mind is expanded, your faith is built to take on new strength. Those who don’t meditate deprive themselves of great things God has to offer. Success begins from the mind – the kind of mindset we keep will determine how successful we would be in life. You cannot be thinking failure and suddenly arrive at success.
Observe to Do According to All That Is Written Therein – Not selected ones, not convenient ones, not just the ones you agree with, but all! Jesus began to do and teach (Acts 1:1). Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord, to do it, and to teach His statutes and rules in Israel (Ezra 7:10).
Prosperity and good success are guaranteed if the blueprints are painstakingly followed. The word of God is yes and amen (2 Corinthians 1:20), trusted from generations to generations and would never fail.
