Let It Rain

“I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit” – Leviticus 26:4 (NIV)

God is the giver of rain, and God’s rain comes in diverse ways: the rain of His presence, the rain of His glory, the rain of His blessings, the rain of His anointing, the rain of His power etc. When God releases His blessings of any form in abundance, we can say it has rained on us. And when God sends rain, the impact cannot be ignored or denied.

“The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.” Deut 28:12 (NKJV)

Many people have encountered God’s rain, and their transformation has become significant and undeniable. The presence of rain has changed an entire nation and its people. Such was the situation that occurred in 1 Kings 18:41-45. The entire nation experienced a new season due to the rain that fell on them after a long period of drought. Life was restored, hope was awakened, dryness was over, and fruitfulness became the order of the day. The people rejoiced because the drought was over. The land began to yield its increase again. What a joyous experience!

In this season, I believe God is bringing on us rains of transformation that would change our lives for the better. The rain that would cause our land (our hearts) to yield its increase – fresh insight, renewed courage, great ideas, divine inspirations, etc., the rain that would take our relationship with God to a higher level, so much so that we start doing greater things for the kingdom and influence our world in higher dimensions; the rain of God’s anointing and grace. Zechariah 10:1 says, “Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain”. Rains come in season. This is the season of rain! Your fruitfulness and increase would amaze the world as the Lord’s rain falls on you when you ask.

1. Ask with diligence and fervency – James 5:16-18
2. Ask with understanding, knowing what you are asking for and its importance – Eph 1:18
3. Ask in alignment with God’s will and purpose, not just for self-aggrandizement – James 4:2-4
4. Ask believing. We receive from God by faith – James 1:6, Mark 11:24, Matt 21:22
5. Ask importunately (in a persistent, insistent manner). Don’t stop until you see – Luke 18:1-8; 1 Kings 18:43-44
6. Ask based on the word – God would only commit to His words, not our opinions – Isaiah 55:11
7. Ask in holiness. Purity commands power – Psalms 66:18, Proverbs 15:29

Don’t relent in prayers for rain in this season… ASK! – Let it rain, dear Lord!
